Responsibilities of the CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- Provide personal care and services such as assisting with activities of daily living.
- Obtain and record vital signs and weight as assigned.
- Accurately document all care as required by company policy and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Make routine rounds on each assigned resident and patient in accordance with established procedures.
- Promptly communicate any significant changes in behavior or condition to supervisor.
- Document actions by completing required forms, reports, logs and records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
- Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
- Service and protect the facility by adhering to professional standards, company policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and standards.
Requirements of the CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- Maintain current CPR certification as mandated by state requirements
- Graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program
- Passed a state approved competency examination within 120 days of employment
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3-6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of management and employees
- Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
- Ability to follow the appropriate safety precautions
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
