OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

The caseworker will develop and maintain matches between elementary students and high school students in the service area. The caseworker will report directly to the executive director.

This position is contingent upon funding, and thus the number of working hours will be determined by the Board of Directors. The caseworker may be expected to attend evening and weekend meetings pertinent to the performance of his/her duties.

GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for this position shall have a Bachelor’s degree and significant work experience in a human services field. The applicant is subject to federal and state laws requiring clearance under Acts 33 and 34 and proof of citizenship under Title IX.

The person must enjoy working with people and relate to their needs in a positive manner.

This position requires that the employee have a valid driver license, vehicle insurance and own transportation to make school and site visits.

The caseworker must conduct him/herself in a manner recognized as professional in terms of behavior, appearance and attitude in the day-to-day performance of duties.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The caseworker will have the responsibility of interviewing prospective volunteers and clients to determine their needs and appropriateness for our program.

The caseworker will be familiar with national and local BBBS policies.

The caseworker will maintain case records, following agency guidelines, on all clients and volunteers.

The caseworker will establish appropriate matches, establish goals and provide ongoing supervision.

The caseworker will provide support to all parties throughout the life of the match including developing and maintaining relationships with any applicable partners.

The caseworker will maintain confidentiality of personal information of all clients and volunteers.

The caseworker will provide regular reports to the executive director as to the number and status of matches. The caseworker will input and maintain statistical data relative to matches in a timely manner.
