Dir Case Mgmt Job Opening

The Director of Case Management is responsible for the development, planning, coordination and administration of the activities of Utilization Review and Resource Management; responsibilities include facility wide direction of quality and cost efficient patient care. Including but not limited to daily review of medical records to determine appropriateness/ medical necessity of admission, continued hospital stay and use of ancillary services. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

Leads and directs the work of others. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Reports directly to the CFO.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing (RN) preferred. Associate’s degree/Diploma RN accepted from an accredited school of nursing. Master’s Degree Social Worker accepted. Must have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in direct patient care.

Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Must be able to prioritize and make appropriate judgment calls.

Must be able to communicate efficiently, written and oral. Must possess a current Alabama Nursing License or Alabama Social Work License. Must obtain & maintain CPR certification. Must maintain any departmental competencies both initially and annually as required
