• Missoula, MontanaThis position is an on call (0.2 Status), variable shift in the Respiratory Therapy Department. A Respiratory Care Practitioner, under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Services, or Clinical Manager of the Respiratory Care Department and Medical Directors is responsible for the treatment, of patients of all ages with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardiopulmonary system. The Respiratory Care Practitioner uses medical gases and administration apparatus, humidification, aerosols, medications, broncho-pulmonary drainage, cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the therapeutic support of the patient. Specific techniques may also include measurement of ventilatory volumes, flows, blood gas analysis, arterial puncture, and electrocardiograms.
Minimum Required: RRT with AS degree required. Current Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner license. Post graduate from an American Medical Association/Committee for Accreditation Respiratory Therapy Education accredited program for Respiratory Therapy. Clinical experience with multiple age populations required. BLS upon hire. Healthcare provider BLS within 3 months of hire required. PALS within 6 months of hire. General floor therapies, adult ventilator management in the ICU, VAP bundle use, daily wean assessment, general ED experience required. Must have critical thinking skills, preceptors/ mentoring. Presentation skills/instruction technologies required. PALS , RRT.
Preferred / Desired: RRT with a BS degree/Masters preferred. 5+ years clinical experience with all age populations. Extensive experience in advanced respiratory training. Bronchoscopy exercise stress-testing,. Pulmonary artery catheters, Pulmonary Function Testing, ventilator management in NICU, PICU, AVEA ventilator operations, blood gas machine operations. CPFT, RPFT preferred. Extensive experience in advanced respiratory training. CPFT , Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist , NRP , RPFT.
This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol Testing according to MT Law 39-2-205-39-2-211.
