• Hockessin, DelawarePOSITION SUMMARY: The Rehab Aide is responsible for providing support/assistance to physical therapists and assistants in their treatment of patients, under their direct supervision, as well as assisting in front desk job duties as required in accordance with practice’s policies and procedures and state and federal (Medicare) rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Is responsible for assisting the therapists in the treatment of non-Medicare patients, under the therapists’ direct supervision, including but not limited to the following:
- Retrieving hot packs and/or cold packs.
- Setting up exercise machines as necessary for each individual non-Medicare patient.
- Monitoring exercise repetitions/form as requested by the therapists for non-Medicare patients.
- Cleaning up after patients and therapists as necessary.
- Is responsible for adhering to work schedules, which are created to maximize hours of patient care and patient volume, therefore, schedules may vary from day to day depending on patient need, including early morning hours, evening hours and Saturday hours depending on clinic.
- Must work a minimum of two nights per week and two mornings per week unless otherwise indicated by Clinic Manager.
- If occasionally requested to assist at a clinic other than your base clinic, you will comply unless extenuating circumstances prohibit you from doing so.
- If unable to report to work at your scheduled time, you will contact your Clinic Manager by phone as far in advance as possible to allow time to arrange for coverage, if necessary.
- All time off must be requested in writing and submitted to the Clinic Manager as far in advance as possible to allow time to arrange for coverage, if necessary.
- Is responsible for being able to perform all front desk job duties including but not limited to answering the phone, scheduling patients, patient registration, insurance verification, charge entry, payment posting and daily reconciliation.
- Must be trained in front desk staff until “Proficient” per the Front Desk Training Checklist.
- Is responsible for adhering to practice’s policies and procedures pertaining to customer service and patient care, including but not limited to:
- Answering the phone enthusiastically with the standard practice greeting.
- Dressing professionally.
- Being prompt and professional.
- Is responsible for doing laundry (if applicable) and ensuring towels, gowns, etc. are clean, folded and put away in the appropriate place.
- Is responsible for continually cleaning plinths, equipment, etc. after each patient use.
- Is responsible for attending monthly clinic staff meetings or if unable to attend, he/she is responsible for obtaining a copy of the written agenda from the Clinic Manager.
- Is responsible for clocking in and out of Time Clock for every shift and break.
- Is responsible for continuing certified in proficient in exercise supervision the supervisor physical therapist or clinic manager.
- Is responsible for promoting all practice products and services whenever possible.
- Is responsible for maintaining current CPR certification.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Rehab Aide position requires a minimum of a high school diploma.
JOB SKILLS:
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, physicians, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Exercise Science Students/Graduates preferred
PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:
The Rehab Aide interacts with senior management, peers, clients, families, visitors, clinic staff and practice personnel. He/she carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands on intervention/participation may be required.
