Summary of Duties:
Responsible for performing restorative nursing procedures that maximize the resident’s existing abilities, emphasize independence instead of dependence, and minimize the negative effects of disability with an attitude of realistic optimism.
Essential Job Functions:
Must have successfully completed an accredited Registered Nurse Program and be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Alabama. Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in restorative care. Must possess CPR certification within thirty (30) days of employment.

Essential Job Functions:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct restorative care services, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning restorative care.
- Develop and maintain standardize restorative care standards.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing Quality Assurance Program for restorative care services. Develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Maintain treatment records, current resident files, and progress notes.
- Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as necessary.
- Provide written and/or oral reports of the restorative care programs and activities as required.
- Provide guidance and training to personnel.
- Meet with and solicit advice from other supervisors concerning restorative care. Assist in identifying and correcting problem areas.
- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing personnel in accordance with the current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Review request for restorative care and physicians’ orders. Perform restorative care treatments in resident’s room as necessary.
- Assist residents in ambulatory training as necessary.
- Assist in developing restorative care plans for individual residents in coordination and conjunction with the resident assessment (MDS).
- Review the restorative care requirements of each resident admitted to the facility and assist the attending physician.

- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
- Must be able to walk/stand 75% of the day.
