Title: SafeHouse Case Manager
Classification: Non-exempt
Supervision: Reports to SafeHouse Manager. Provides no direct supervision.
Hours: 40 hours/week, M-F, Evening Shift (2:30PM to 11:00PM)
Salary: $15.50-$17.50 per hour
Purpose: Provides oversight of comprehensive service delivery, including advocacy and case management of safehouse residents and their children. Provides eligibility screening, crisis intervention and support to clients seeking services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures comprehensive service provision to residential adults and children including crisis intervention, individual and group advocacy, domestic violence information/education, safety planning, life skills support and referrals to other community resources.
- Performs eligibility screenings, intake processes, safety planning, crisis intervention, assessment for services, and community referrals to non-residential clients.
- Greets walk-in clients as needed.
- Answers the crisis hotline as needed.
- Provides case management notes and updates to SafeHouse Manager.
- Collaborates with safehouse advocates and non-residential advocates and provides coverage as needed within safehouse.
- Participates in case review to insure coordination of services for residential clients.
- Provides occasional community education/training, outreach, and community support regarding information on domestic violence.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts needs assessment of safehouse clients.
- Assures that the health and safety needs of clients are met.
- Connects clients to appropriate community-based resources.
- Participates in staff meetings and case conferences with team members.
- Assists in completing required reports for files in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participates in compliance, quality assurance and quality improvement activities as directed.
- Assists clients in transitioning into permanent housing.
- Assists with crisis calls, front line duties as needed.
- Assists with and/or facilitates “House Meetings”.
- Provides light housekeeping as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Safehouse Manager.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Social Services or related field, or minimum one year of direct service in a non-profit agency.
- Direct service experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other violent crimes.
- Ability to communicate and work well with survivors from a variety of racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds and with various religious beliefs, lifestyles, sexual orientations, age variance, differing abilities.
- Experience in maintaining accurate and timely case management files.
- Ability to work independently in a safehouse environment with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team environment, with proven ability to assist and support in the development of team decisions and program policies.
- Familiarity with multiple systems (i.e., human services, health, criminal justice, CPS, etc.)
- Knowledge of community resources and partnering agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of secondary trauma, client trauma responses and crisis management and trauma informed cared.
- Ability and availability to complete a required 16 hour paid advocate training provided by ATV.
