The Veterinary Technician Assistant provides key support to the technician and veterinarian staff. The Veterinary Technician Assistant must be friendly, professional and courteous, and capable of handling several tasks at once with frequent interruptions. The Veterinary Technician Assistant must be able to take direction from multiple staff members while adhering to training standards.
Essential Functions:
Multi-tasking and attention to detail skills are required. Must have the ability to stand for the majority of the work period and enough stamina to work past the regularly scheduled shifts, if needed. Must also be able to work weekends and holidays and flexible enough to switch or pick up shifts for co-workers.
Duties include cleaning kennels, feeding and caring for patients, supporting ER staff and client interaction.
A qualified applicant will have experience restraining both cats and dogs.
The role of the Vet Tech Assistant is to serve as an extra set of hands for the Vet Tech's. Primary responsibilities will include:
