Same Day Care Center

Same Day Care Center (SDCC) provides medical and surgical nursing care. Services include pre-operative or pre-procedure preparation and recovery of patients scheduled as Same Day. The unit also provides pre-operative care for patients that will be admitted to the hospital after surgery. Medical procedure examples might include bronchoscopies, radiologic procedures or medication/blood administration all with the plan for same day completion and release.

SUMMARY OF THE JOB
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care; demonstrates the knowledge, critical thinking and judgement of and integrates the use of evidence-based outcomes for Nursing practice; supervises care delivered; coordinates plan of care; provides education for patients, families and staff, and collaborates with other disciplines.
**RN will be cross-trained to work in both Same Day and PACU.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate from a nationally accredited school of professional nursing, no experience required. If graduate of non-nationally accredited school of professional nursing, then at least one year of professional nursing experience is required. BSN is preferred, or an education action plan in place. Newly hired RNs on or after October 1, 2014 with five (5) years or less nursing experience are required to receive their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.

ER/ICU approved
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required.
