North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea, Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center and at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs.

The North Hawaii Community Hospital has an open call-in position for a Patient Service Coordinator.

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates healthcare activities and services related to patient's visit to the Hospital.
  • Works with physicians and their staff, patient families and other health care team members and other facilities to ensure services are coordinated and provided appropriately to the patient

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to perform 7,200 adjusted keystrokes per hour.
  • Two (2) years recent experience in admitting, business services, scheduling or related work in a healthcare facility, preferably comparable to the Hospital.
  • Experience to demonstrate knowledge in patient registration, admitting and medical insurance and/or scheduling.
  • Experience with personal computers and Windows applications such as Word.
