Unit Clerk/Secretary

The Unit Clerk is responsible for answering the telephone, transcribing physician orders, communicating and coordinating clerical information, maintaining the patient charts, organizing the desk, and requisitioning supplies, equipment, and services as directed in order to promote an efficient unit. Demonstrates the knowledge and assessment skills necessary to communicate, educate, and provide a therapeutic and safe environment.

Requirements:

• Prefer previous hospital experience or on the job training as unit clerk
• Current BLS issued by American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written
