Overview
Manages and coordinates activities of workers for a specific division of the DC with the goal of the greatest productivity at the highest level of efficiency.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the performance of the PTL/Pick area
Builds and develops status reports with KPI’s to measure the outbound team’s performance on at least the following items: Productivity, Accuracy, Shrink, Absenteeism, Cost Per Case.
Responsible for developing standard operating procedures, practices, and plans which lead to a safe, orderly, and efficient area.
Responsible for ensuring staffing levels are maintained and that subordinates are properly trained and professionally developed.
Communicates area status on a regular basis with the Assistant Director and Director of Distribution.
Works with the Assistant Director and Director of Distribution on annual budget recommendation for the area.
Determines and delegates work procedures and expedites workflow, taking into consideration all areas of the DC to ensure best work practices.
Responsible for ensuring area goals are achieved in an effective and efficient manner per policy.
Cycle counts inventory locations based on system design.
Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of work loads.
Responsible for ensuring safe work practices and procedures are followed among team members.
Issues written and oral instructions to subordinates as necessary related to work processes and area procedures to accomplish department goals and comply with company policies.
Delegates duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Initiates disciplinary action steps with individual workers as needed and works with the Human Resource department involving communications.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge of industry by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing professional networks.
Maintains a positive work environment within the area and encourages teamwork among those in the area.
Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Able to use other software related to the operation of the warehouse.
Provide assist to the VP and Director’s with creating meaningful MicroStrategy report.
Create and utilize MicroStrategy reports as need for warehouse operations and teach others as needed.
Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and informing appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 5 to 35 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted distribution principles.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
