Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician Job Opening

Aspen Arbor Animal Hospital is currently accepting resumes for a full-time veterinary assistant/kennel technician. We are a busy 4-doctor AAAH accredited, 7000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility located in Broomfield, Colorado right off the Boulder Turnpike and Wadsworth Blvd (US 36 and Hwy 121).

Responsibilities in kennels include making sure of all animals in our care are healthy and safe, cleaning and sanitizing dog & cat kennels, exercising dogs, feeding & medicating boarding and hospitalized animals, maintaining the cleanliness standards of an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital, cleaning hospital and administrative areas of facility, light grounds maintenance, and more.

Responsibilities as a veterinary assistant include assisting veterinarians during the examination process, assisting veterinary nurses with assorted duties. Filling prescriptions, vaccine administration, prepping and wrapping surgery packs, monitoring patients under anesthesia and helping with patient recovery.

Hours are approximately 18 per week as an assistant and 20 per week in kennels.

We are looking for someone that is reliable, has a positive work attitude and is genuinely excited about the opportunity to work with animals. Previous veterinary experience and handling dogs and cats is preferred. You must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and some holidays, and be able to lift up to 50lbs! You must also be good with people, be a self-starter and be willing to take on responsibilities that go beyond the general duties of a kennel tech.
