Specifics ofthe Director of Nursing (ADON), RN/Registered Nurse role:

 Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the
nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with
current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern Long Term Care providers.
 Assist in developing methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident
services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
 Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing as
necessary/required, concerning the operation of the department.
 Serve on, participate in, and attend various ECOJC committees as appointed by the
Director of Nursing.
 Assist in directing the daily operation of the nursing services by assessing, evaluation
guiding and directing others in the performance of their duties.
 Ensure that departmental disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap, or marital status.
 Terminate employment of personnel when necessary, documenting and coordinating such actions with the Director of Nursing, HR Director and/or Administrator in accordance to ECOJC policies and procedures.
 Participate in the interviewing and selection of residents to move-in to ECOJC in
accordance with established procedures.
 Provide the Director of Nursing with information relative to the nursing needs of the
resident and the nursing service department’s ability to meet those needs.
 Review nurses’ notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident’s response to the care, and that such
care is provided in accordance with the resident’s wishes.
 Consistently examine processes to ensure optimal quality care to the residents, implement changes as necessary in order to meet their need.
 Ensure that all licensing and certification standards set by the Board of Nursing and nurse aid and medication aid certification programs are being adhered to.
 Ensure that policies and procedures are in place and that they are being maintained and followed.

About the Director of Nursing (ADON), RN/Registered Nurse

The primary purpose of the Assistant Director of Nursing is to promote and restore individuals health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to residents, friends, and families; and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities of Evergreen Community of Johnson County (ECOJC). Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern ECOJC, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing. Qualifications for the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Registered Nurse/RN

 Must be an RN, Registered Nurse
 Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in long term care
