This is a full time (0.8-1.0 Status), day shift in the Electrodiagnostics Department. The EEG (Electroencephalogram) Tech performs EEG testing on hospital patients and outpatients. The Tech provides findings, results and a descriptive analysis according to facility policy and procedures. Strong, well developed communication skills are essential for this position. The Tech is able to independently perform duties and responsibilities for EEG and recognize clinically significant events and follow facility general policy and procedure regarding reporting of routine and critical test results. The Tech maintains continuing education requirements; establishes policy and procedures according to established standards of practice; performs any other related duties that are consistent with patient and technical care. Assists with patient scheduling, place orders and post charges. This position will be responsible for the development, organization, and maintenance of the pulmonary rehab program. This entails meeting with the patient, obtaining vital signs, developing exercise prescription, educating the patient on the components of the disease, provide support, motivation and encouragement to each patient during their visit, and maintain timely communication with the medical director and primary care provider as to the progress of the patient’s ability to continue their exercise routine. The responsibilities of this position include proficiency in vital sign assessment, patient monitoring, use of exercise equipment, customization of each patient’s exercise plan, and vast knowledge of COPD and the related comorbidities and interventions for improving the quality of life.

Minimum Required: Ability to understand data being recorded and to communicate with Neurologist related to recorded data. Must obtain BLS Healthcare Provider with three months of hire. Associates degree required - Must be a graduate from an accredited program in respiratory therapy. Must be licensed by the Montana State Board of Respiratory Care and Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Preferred/Desired: Experience in hospital and physician office setting preferred. 4 years of experience as a registered respiratory therapist and Chronic Lung Disease certification from AARC preferred.

This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing according to MT Law 39-2-205-39-2-211.
