Typical Physical Demands: Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also standing, stooping, bending and reaching required. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment as necessary. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. It is necessary to view and type on computer screen for long periods and work under stressful conditions meeting various deadlines. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours, if necessary.

Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff, patients and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.

Job Summary: Perform receptionist duties, e.g., answering telephones, using the intercom system to page patient/staff, greet guests, notify therapists of patient arrival, schedule/reschedule patient appointments, receive payments/copays from patients.

Qualifications: High School Diploma and knowledge of medical office operations desired. Minimum of 3 years front office experience. Knowledge of insurance procedures and organizational skills. Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Typing and computer skills.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  • Maintain the lobby keeping it neat and in order
  • Credential all new employees through insurance companies
  • Keep updated records of therapist license
  • Assists the Pediatric Director and Executive Director with any reports or projects as needed
  • Counsels families regarding payment options
  • Submit all pre-certifications for Insurance coverage
  • Experience with insurance claims and billing
  • Schedule therapy and evaluations
  • Add new patients information and claim information
  • Check patients in and out
  • Collect copays
  • Maintain Patient Files
  • Answer phone
  • Data Entry
  • Maintain therapists schedules
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required
