DIRECTOR OF NURSING:
Skilled Nursing Facility:
Assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. In collaboration with the Executive Director, allocates departmental resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being. Collaborates with other departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop support and coordinate resident care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of the facility.
The Director of Nursing will plan, organize, develop and direct overall operation of nursing services departments to ensure highest degree of patient care in accordance with all laws, regulations and Healthcare standards.

The Director of Nursing will plan, organize, develop and direct overall operation of nursing services departments to ensure highest degree of patient care in accordance with all laws, regulations and Healthcare standards.
Job Duties Include:
- Achieve company and facility clinical indicators
- Achieve facility goals for annual state survey ensure nursing programs are provided for the facility
- Facilitate and sustain effective Interdisciplinary Team walking rounds per protocol
- Ensures that all nursing documentation timely, accurate, and complete
- Timely and effectively integrate all identified company, regional initiatives or best practices into operations
- Ensure that licensed staff completes clinical and medication administration competency skills checklist upon hire, annually, and as needed to maintain proficiencies
- Perform care as defined by clients individual Plan of Care and within scope of states nurse practice act
- Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions within a person-centered framework.
- Counsels the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs.
- Supervises, educates and coaches nursing personnel.
- Assesses competency of clinical staff and ensures staff is assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care.
- Current RN nursing state license, 3+ years experience in geriatrics/long term care management
- Proven leadership, previous DON experience preferred,
- ability to handle multiple assignments and issues,
- excellent communication and organizational skills a must
- The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Experience with adults and senior adults required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct staff.
