Unites States Steel Tubular produces seamless steel pipe manufactured for OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) and S&L (Standard and Line) customers. United States Steel Tubular is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. The Fairfield, Alabama facility is scheduled day shift, Monday - Friday.

Under the direction of Medical Department staff, the Medical Assistant will perform routine physical exam screening tests, draw blood, set up and clean medical equipment, type reports, retrieve files, perform computer data entry and assist medical department personnel as required.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist Medical Technician by performing routine employee physical exam screening tests (eye, hearing, lung, EKG, etc.).
  • Draw blood as part of physical exam process.
  • Set up and clean medical equipment used in performing employee physical examinations.
  • Type test opinions that are required by OSHA.
  • Update electronic medical examination records for plant medical personnel.
  • Perform simple data entry, clerical and secretarial tasks for the Employee Assistance Program.
  • Assist other medical group personnel as required.

Education/Skill Requirements:
High school graduate or GED with training as a medical assistant or military medical specialist with a minimum of 12 months directly applicable work experience and current MA credentials in Alabama. CPR certified. Experience with DOT exams, drug screen collections and OSHA required exams is preferred.
