Shift Details: Rotating schedule to cover rotating hours between 12p and 12a. Every other weekend and fill in shifts. Will be trained to function in a telemetry technician role to fill in if there are open shifts needing coverage.

  • Unit Secretary experience in a hospital preferred
  • Emergency Department experience preferred
  • Computer skills and Medical terminology required

Required Credentials:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • HS or GED required

What You Will Do

In the Emergency Department at Blount, the Unit Secretary is trained for a dual role. Greeting patients, Answering phones, making calls for the physician to contact physicians for transfer to other facilities, PCP for admissions, EKG’s, Monitor Tech duties, transport patients, data entry, Cleaning rooms after patient discharges, etc.

Our ED contains 10 beds, they are normally full, and our staff work as a team to ensure the best care is provided for our patients. Blount is a small community hospital and we strive to provide excellent care and genuinely care about our co-workers and patients.
