We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse–Psychiatric Unit to join the Mountainside Team!

What You’ll Do

The Registered Nurse—Psychiatric Unit, will direct and oversee the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Perform through and timely assessment of patient’s condition including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspects

• Report pertinent observations regarding the patient to the physician, and other team members

• Discuss patient care as it relates to evidence based practice/s

• Develop individualized patient care plans

• Provide education consistent with the patient/family’s learning abilities and preferences

• Administer medications to patients in an accurate and timely manner

• Appropriately provide charting updates to patient’s medical records

• Transcribe, verify, and carry out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner

• Recognize and respond to opportunities to enhance overall patient experience

• Precept newly employed team members and students

• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

• Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary strategies

• Perform any and all other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required, Bachelor's of Nursing Degree preferred
• A minimum of 1 year experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric or behavioral health care facility preferred
• Current and valid NJ Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification required
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Customer/patient centric attitude a must
