The Respiratory Therapist 3 is an advanced level Respiratory Therapist, with advanced assessment and therapeutic skills in multiple patient populations, areas or ages groups. The Respiratory Therapist 3 is expected to have a higher knowledge, skill, and abilities level than the Respiratory Therapist 2, and routinely performs at that level. The Respiratory Therapist 3 is expected to routinely perform and interact as a professional. The Respiratory Therapist III can handle virtually any circumstance that may arise pertaining to respiratory care without supervision. May consider RT 1 or 2 for position.
Requirements
.Education:
Graduate of Respiratory accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) program.
Experience:
6 months in the critical care environment or 1 or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehab as a practicing Respiratory Therapist.
Experience in the NICU strongly preferred.
Training in at least two age populations.
Training in advanced bronchial pulmonary hygiene therapies and modalities. Blood Collection Techniques (i.e Arterial/Capillary Puncture).
Proficient in English.
Licensure/Certification:
BLS for the Health Care Provider through American Heart Association, American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or must obtain within one year of hire.
Registered Respiratory Therapist or greater than 10 years as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Virginia licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
