Role Summary

This position provides 24 hour coverage and supervision of the residential program home and maintains program consistency, safety, and stability for each of the residents. Role is also responsible for fostering trusting relationships with residents in a consistent manner while also implementing the program guidelines and structure.

Responsibilities

  • To serve as a leader and WellHouse ambassador for the residential program home
  • Be on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during rotation (Rotations will begin and end on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m.)
  • Provide daily updates as necessary to supervisor and case managers
  • Attend staff meetings at the beginning or end of shift
  • Serve as the point of contact for all campus houses when other staff is not on site
  • Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the residents and facility
  • Address negative behaviors with a positive and mature attitude
  • Assist Resident Supervisor with conducting and/or monitoring educational groups as assigned
  • Perform periodic inspections of the facility and coordinate corrective action plans to address problems
  • Supervise client activities including breaks, assignments, recreational activities and other activities when needed
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of varied and nutritious meals each night
  • Provide a weekly menu for all meals as requested
  • Purchase food weekly to support menu plan
  • Document activities in accordance with TWH practices
  • Enforce residential policies and procedures- Report infractions as necessary
  • Coordinate supervision of residents during activities off site with Director of Operations, Case Manager and Resident Supervisor
  • Maintain confidentiality, as per agency practices and HIPPA
  • Be a welcoming point of contact for all after hours events on campus
  • Assist with transportation of residents as needed
  • Perform periodic inspections of the facility and vehicles. Maintain a documentation logs as needed
  • Dispense and log medication for residents- Maintain organization and functionality in the home
  • Assign and ensure that chores are being satisfactorily completed
  • Be "on call" at night to address resident needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Character references
  • At least 25 years of age
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to drive a large van
  • Adherence to high ethical standards both on and off campus that doesn't hinder the mission of The Wellhouse
  • Must be able to be insured by the ministry's risk management insurance
  • Must be able to successfully prepare meals for groups of ten or more
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable or no accommodations.

Education

  • High school or equivalent

Required License or Certification

  • Driver's License required
