Certified Medical Assistant Job Opening

Clearway Pain Solutions Institute is looking to add a motivated Medical Assistant to our growing clinical team in Andalusia, AL two days a week. (With intent to increase hours after 90 days)

Specific Responsibilities include:

Non Clinical Duties

• Pull and return all voice mails daily (chart note)
• Call in refill medications (non narcotics) (chart note)
• Prepare narcotic refills as needed (chart note)
• Refer to outside sources (chart note includes faxing all medical records)
• Obtaining authorization when necessary
• Refer and/or schedule radiology studies (chart note)
• Includes preparing/faxing order and clinical notes
• Obtaining prior authorization from insurance company when necessary
• Order any necessary labs (chart note)
• Prior authorization for medications (chart note)
• Includes filling out paperwork, faxing and tracking response
• Obtain cardiac clearance (chart note)
• When requested by physician and required by cardiologist
• Schedule appointments as needed for patient
• Scan and attach all patient records obtained daily/weekly
• Complete FMLA paperwork (chart note)
• Scan copy medical chart documents into EHR
• Respond to any task/staff messages daily
• Check provider mailbox/sort
• Check and respond to patient portal messages
• Check emails regularly
• Sign off on nurse station checklist daily

Clinical Duties

• Open encounter
• Import all required information
• Triage patient
• Obtain vital signs
• Complete intake form in EHR
• Prepare prescriptions as indicated by provider
• Prepare any orders as indicated by provider
• Complete treatment plan in EHR to include:
• Assist in office procedures
• Provide patient instructions
• Give IM injections (toradol/decadron)
• Draw up/label injections for provider
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA and safe medication practices

Must be able to carry/lift up to 20 lbs.

Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time.

Must be able to work as a team and independently to complete the task(s) at hand.

May travel to satellite locations; valid driver's license required.
