- Patient admission and scheduling
- Pre-surgical laboratory testing
- Surgical prep
- Anesthesia knowledge and monitoring skills
- Surgical assisting including dental assisting
- Radiographic techniques
- Inventory and maintenance of surgical instrumentation / supplies
- Patient nursing care
- Exam room assistance
- Patient discharge
- Client communication
- Record keeping
- On-call responsibilities
- Must be able to communicate well with clients, as well as showing care and concern for their pets
