Provides services designed to support clients/youth in the school environment. Activities are designed to promote skill development in areas such as decision making, self esteem, behavior management, assets of daily living, and self awareness. Population to be served includes children enrolled in local schools and their families.

Principal Duties
An employee in this class may perform any of the following duties. However, these examples do not include all the specific tasks which an employee may be expected to perform.
- Provides individual, group, and classroom instruction on basic life and character development skills such as health care/personal hygiene, social skill development, decision making, and emotional management.
- Assists in coordinating and facilitating community parenting classes.
- Routine staffing of caseload in order to facilitate recommendation and referral for additional Mental Health services when appropriate.
- Assists in planning and implementing skills training in small groups and classroom presentations. Topic areas may include, but are not limited to anti-bullying, social skill development, personal safety, emotional management, decision making, and personal success.
- Provides consultation and support to clients, their families, and facilitates health community relationships between client, community, and other agencies.
- Collaborates with other service providers and community resources. Serve as an advocate and liaison in assisting clients to connect with needed community resources and services.
- Completes all documentation in a thorough, accurate and timely manner in accordance with the OARs and the department's quality assurance standards.
- Attends and is an active participant at assigned meetings. Works to support collaboration between team members and organizations. Work collaboratively with schools and county systems and staff.
- Completes projects as directed. May assist in gathering data including performance measures, utilization, family satisfaction, and outcome data.
- Performs related duties as required.
Education, Experience and Training
Bachelors degree in a behavioral science, educational field, or three years of experience working in social services, educational, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Supplemental Information
Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license and automobile insurance, and have access to and use of a personal automobile as a condition of employment.
