• Cheyenne, WyomingLead Faculty provides daily operational oversight of one DDC; serves as primary contact person for information, problem solving, and process management; assures adequate staffing of faculty for clinical, lab, and/or simulations; implements learner schedules; serves as clinical, lab, or simulation faculty approximately 80% of scheduled time with 20% administrative release time.
The Lead Faculty is responsible for the following:
- Assists and/or initiates the development of the lab in a newly identified DDC, to include set up, supply and equipment stocking, preparing the lab for learning and simulation
- Orients and supports learner’s direct focused care (DFC or clinical), case-based (CB or lab), and interventional skills based (ISB or simulation) schedule development by the Coordinator, DDC Area Operations (OC).
- Develops direct focused care (DFCs), case base (CB’s) or interventional skills based (ISB) schedules
- Assures all DFC, CB and ISB shifts are staffed, that clinical experiences align with the curriculum, and lab and simulations events are properly equipped
- Completes DFC, CB and ISB on each faculty every semester (must have MSN; Area Manager to complete if IC is BSN prepared);
- Oversees the preceptor assignments, and initial and closing meetings with preceptor and preceptee, as developed by the OC.
- Ensures any EL paperwork is filled out appropriately and professionally
- Coordinates with Area Manager, DDCs, (AM) to maintain positive partnerships with existing clinical sites
- In collaboration with the AM, evaluates the need for additional clinical sites based on anticipated growth and variable curriculum needs.
- Evaluates and identifies need for additional equipment and submits to AM for review and approval.
- Serves on at least one nursing committee.
- Contributes to institutional accreditation activities.
- May join AM interviewing experiential learning faculty
- Engages in local, state, and/or national nursing education and practice organizations.
- Collaborates with Function leaders/Program Managers within the College.
- Maintains expertise in nursing education and awareness of current trends in nursing practice and healthcare.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BSN required, MSN or Graduate degree with a major in Nursing preferred.
- Current RN license, with no restrictions.
- Documented knowledge and skills for scheduling and supervision of DFC, CB and ISB activities with relevant clinical expertise (minimum 3 years’ experience).
- Ability, willingness, and availability to perform needed responsibilities throughout the three academic semesters each calendar year.
- Must have basic computer skills in order to work efficiently and knowledge of Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint) is required
- Teaching experience (minimum of two years) in post-secondary professional nursing program with relevant clinical experience.

The position is based at a DDC within the specific area. May require considerable travel.
