Occupational Therapist Job Opening

Monongahela Valley Hospital is accepting applications for a Part-time Occupational Therapist. The position will primarily include working in an outpatient, pediatric arena with evening hours included. In addition, the candidate may be required to provide services in skilled nursing, acute hospital, and inpatient rehab settings. Some primary functions of the position are: completing thorough assessments of occupational needs and establishing appropriate plan of care to optimize function, administering and scoring standardized testing, organizing and conducting occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation of the patients; directing patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance; and facilitating the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct pathology and to promote and maintain health.

Education and Experience: Candidate must have attained at least a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of high education and satisfactorily passed a written and/or oral and practical examination which shall test an applicant's knowledge of sciences, as they relate to physical therapy procedures and therapy. The successful candidate must also be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in Pennsylvania. Furthermore, the candidate must maintain standards as set by the American Occupational Therapy Association regarding treatment procedure and professional code of ethics.
