Cape ENT is a high-volume specialty practice with both ENT and audiology. The ideal candidate is someone who can multi-task, works well under pressure and has experience with doing procedures.

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical support to the physicians and patients. This person works to prepare the patient prior to the doctor conducting the visit. The medical assistant performs all functions related to the clinical aspect of the patient’s care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years’ experience as a medical assistant
  • Experience using electronic medical record systems
  • Experience working in a specialty practice
  • Competent in effectively communicating health information
  • Medical assistant certification preferred
  • Bilingual candidate is favorable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and collect necessary clinical data the doctor needs for the visit
  • Verify patient identity and clearly indicate the purpose of the exam or procedure
  • Assist the physician during exams when needed
  • Input patient data into the electronic medical record system
  • Regularly check the MA mailbox for voicemails from patients or other healthcare providers
  • Fulfill incoming requests from patients for medication refills
  • Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked with clinical inventory
  • Devise a list of inventory that is needed and submit to appropriate staff member for order
  • Keep clinical areas in a manner that is clean and organized
  • Complete chart preparations for upcoming appointments at least 1 day in advance
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward staff and patients
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Office Manager
