Purpose – Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing basic, essential clerical and general office activities to greet vendors, customers, and other visitors and assure that they are escorted to the proper office while operating multiple-call telephone and/ or switchboard console and routing calls to the appropriate person or location.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance. Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Greet vendors, customers, and visitors, and assures that they are escorted to the proper office, if necessary.
  • Receive incoming telephone calls, secure necessary information and transfer call to appropriate party.
  • Takes and relays telephone messages as necessary.
  • Assist the Customer Service Department with various tasks.
  • Occasionally assist with receiving parts and units, scanning, and generate OEM reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Primary Contacts/Interactions: (Both Internal and External)

Maintain positive daily working relationships for effective communication with co-workers/staff, all internal departments essential to performance of duties, and a wide range of customers, agents, vendors and FAA personnel.

Education / Job Experience/Technical Knowledge Required: (Additional Competency List Attached)

Formal Education/Training:
High school graduate or equivalent GED preferred, but not required.
Direct /Indirect Experience:
Should have minimum of three (3) months general office or administrative/staff support experience.
Qualifications: (Including Licenses and Certifications)

Must possess effective written/verbal communications skills and good skills in organizing and controlling information.
Knowledge of office equipment including personal computer, copiers, and mainframe system.

Level of Decision Making/Problem Solving:

Work is supervised on a daily basis, with limited discretion given by supervisor based on individual circumstances.

Normal work is performed in an office environment: may exert up to (50-70) pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves walking, sitting, or standing for various periods of time. Near clarity of vision required for close up chart/document analysis. Reaching: extending hands and arms in any direction. Handling: seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hand(s).
Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to convey detailed spoken instruction to other workers, customers or agents accurately.
Hearing: effectively perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.
The job requires normal diligence/attention in performing their duties under mental stresses commonly associated with basic clerical work in a production or office environment and an acceptable level of knowledge of practices.

Most work is performed in an office environment. Occasionally may be exposed to hangars, ramps and engine shop environments, with stringent housekeeping and work area safety regulations and practices to observe and maintain.
