The International Office of the University of South Dakota seeks an experienced International Undergraduate Admissions Counselor who will represent the University to prospective international students and families, manage the application process from inquiry through admission, and supervise the students responsible for office social media accounts.

The Counselor will evaluate international transcripts and credentials, calculate GPA equivalency, assign scholarship awards, provide guidance on transfer course equivalency, and make undergraduate admission decisions. The Counselor will supervise the interns responsible for USD’s social media accounts, and assist in the development of communication plans and assessment of international recruitment activities. Typically will travel internationally one to two times a year.

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of full-time experience in an admissions or student services field.
  • Strong computer skills including some experience with customer relationship management software (CRM) such as Salesforce, and/or a student information system such as Banner.
  • Experienced and/or trained in intercultural communication and the ability to tailor messages to variety of audiences.
  • Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Training and/or experience with developing social media for marketing and recruitment purposes.
  • Prefer prior experience with international admissions.
