This position is for our growing Pulmonary Diagnostics Department. The Respiratory Therapist 3 is an advanced level Respiratory Therapist, with advanced assessment and therapeutic skills in multiple patient populations, areas or ages groups. The Respiratory Therapist 3 is expected to have a higher knowledge, skill, and abilities level than the Respiratory Therapist 2, and routinely performs at that level. The Respiratory Therapist 3 is expected to routinely perform and interact as a professional. The Respiratory Therapist III can handle virtually any circumstance that may arise pertaining to respiratory care without supervision. May also consider a candidate who meets RT 1 or 2 criteria for position.
Requirements
Six months in the critical care environment or 1 or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehab as a practicing Respiratory Therapist.
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory CoARC program (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care).
Training in at least two age populations.
Registered Respiratory Therapist or greater than 10 years as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NRBC). Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or must obtain within one year of hire. BLS for the Healthcare Provider.
Possession of license from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist.
Training in advanced bronchial pulmonary hygiene therapies and modalities. Blood Collection Techniques (i.e. Arterial/Capillary Puncture). Proficient in English.
