The Home Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing instruction, assessment, follow-up and on call services to patients using respiratory equipment, such as apnea monitors, oxygen, ventilators, etc. in the home setting. The Home Respiratory Therapist is also responsible for occasionally delivering and providing instruction to customers receiving other items of durable medical equipment. They also participate in formal, as well as informal marketing of all products and services.
Demonstrates knowledge and capability of care and monitoring all rental equipment including tracking of inventory.
Provides initial instruction to patients regarding proper use and care of medical equipment and supplies. Responsible for intake, education, and follow-up for customers. Contacts physicians or appropriate individuals when problems or concerns develop, or for discontinuation orders.
Initiates and completes all paperwork, including admissions, education and set up. Prepares charts for daily appointments. Obtains signed orders from physician for any changes or discontinuation of orders.
Provides input and development of applicable marketing plans and participates in marketing activities.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

- All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
- The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
- The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
