The Visiting Nurse Association, located in Iowa City, provides home care services to patients in the Johnson County area. We are looking for Homemakers to work full or part time hours during the business hours of Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm.

Homemaker Duties:

• Follows plan for home maintenance as developed by Clinical Services Manager, Social Worker, or Nursing staff.
• Completes necessary errands for clients as directed.
• Reports any concerns or problems expressed by the client or noted by the employee to the Clinical Services Manager or case manager.
• Respects client rights to their privacy, person and property.
• Keeps client information confidential.
• Completes timesheets accurately and on a timely basis and submits as requested
• Completes documentation of service provided according to care plan guidelines.
• Follows schedule of visits and contacts VNA office with any difficulties in following schedule.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High-school diploma or equivalent, and/or previous experience as a Chore Worker.
• Required is a physical examination completed at the time of employment and as requested by VNA with a physician’s statement of the employee’s ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Car, adequate liability insurance and current driver’s license are required.
• All offers of employment are conditioned upon the result of a criminal background check conducted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, as required by law and a negative finding on the Office of Inspector General’s Excluded Provider List.
