Small Animal Veterinary Technician Job Opening

Provides technical support to clinical faculty and senior veterinary students in the oncology section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, including ward and treatment room management, administering treatments and medications ordered by clinical faculty, and animal care administration/management. Assists in other areas of the hospital as directed by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Licensed or Licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT). Experience in critical care nursing in a veterinary medical setting. Working Knowledge of basic nursing skills; ability to place intravenous catheters; working knowledge of CPR; ability to understand and follow instructions; excellent communications and interpersonal skills; rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a veterinary clinical setting, with experience in oncology and chemotherapy preferred.
