Education: Current Arkansas licensure as a registered nurse. A Baccalaureate degree in nursing desirable.
Training and Experience: Two to five years of clinical experience with knowledge of the principles of nursing care for clients spanning a wide range of ages. Demonstrated leadership abilities and good communication skills.
Job Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles of advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and neonatal advanced life support. Demonstrated awareness of legal and regulatory guidelines and skill in staffing and supervisory functions. Basic knowledge of care of all age groups, infants through geriatric. Provides leadership and direction to hospital staff during hours in which administrative personnel are not physically present in the hospital. Acts as a liaison between medical staff, administrative team, patient care team, and hospital guests as needed. Directs staffing adjustments of patient care units on an ongoing basis. Promotes open communications and a positive service management approach to problem solving. Maintains clinical expertise sufficient to serve as a clinical resource person and assist nursing personnel in the delivery of care in emergency situations or as back up to staff. Role models professionalism in dress and behavior for nursing associates. Delivers feedback on an ongoing basis to nursing staff regarding their performance and to nursing administration regarding staff issues and perceived problem areas. Participates in activities of the nursing organization so as to promote the desired organizational culture, maximize fiscal responsibility, facilitate quality improvement efforts, and exemplify standards of personal excellence. Job responsibilities require sitting; walking; bending; pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
