The Interventional Radiology Procedural Coordinator receives and processes messages and orders. This position prepares and schedules patients and acquires any necessary information needed for scheduling. The radiologist manages requests and sends out imaging reports as requested by other medical facilities.
Primary Job Duties:
- Enters orders when needed in Epic, i.e., outside physicians.
- Schedules inpatients and outpatients for Interventional Radiology according to standard operating procedure. Coordinates patient appointments with all concerned departments. Adheres to the standard operating procedure and roles and responsibilities established in the department.
- Acquires previous imaging reports, intake sheets, H&Ps, labs, and other pertinent forms needed for procedures two days prior according to standard operating procedure.
- Sends out imaging reports to other medical facilities as requested.
- Processes messages efficiently and accurately at all times with concise communication.
- Manages requests in a courteous and timely manner and keeps track of all referrals to Interventional Radiology.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Required:
- High school graduate or the equivalent.
- Education beyond high school in a health care field of study (i.e., Medical Secretary, Health Unit Coordinator, Certified or Registered Nurse Assistant, etc.), or equivalent experience in a health care related area
