Position Title: Nurses Assistant (NA)
Supervisor: Administrator
FLSA Status: Full time, non-exempt
Hours: A shift between the center’s hours of operation
(6:30am – 5:30pm Monday thru Friday)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurses Assistant (NA) role is to provide overall order, efficiency, and safe operations of program participants as directed and scheduled by Administrator. The NA works with the Registered Nurse R.N. to ensure the overall safety and wellbeing of participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for participant’s meals this includes preparing, serving, feeding, evaluating participant’s food and water intake, reviewing special meals, planning and preparing daily snacks and working with the RN to ensure all clients nutritional needs are met while at the Center.
Responsible for assisting the RN with ensuring all participants receive adequate daily exercise. This includes developing and introducing new exercise programs and ensuring other CNA staff are motivating and assisting clients. Also, assisting with and ensure daily exercise plans are carried out for clients with special exercise needs.
Responsible for developing, preparing, scheduling, monitoring, and implementing personal care program for participants oral care, personal hygiene and overall wellbeing.
Responsible to open and close the center.
Escort’s clients to and from the Handi-vans and private vehicles with patience and in a courteous manner and oversee that other CNAs are providing exceptional customer services when greeting and assisting clients to go home.
Assists with maintaining order and cleanliness throughout the program site, this includes assisting with laundry, dishes, sweeping, and mopping of center’s common areas.
Complies with the center’s reasonable expectation of orderly, efficient, and safe operations.
Taking and charting of vital signs, height and weight tasks as directed by RN
Responsible for documenting incidents in appropriate records and charting of clients activity and progress/participation on a daily basis.
Completion of toileting schedule and exercise schedule.
Other job duties as directed by Administrator.
Transferring and ambulating of participants and other Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) when participant require assistance.
Use of Infection Control Procedures will be a required practice when exposed and handling blood and bodily fluids and excretions.
Client’s rights, HIPAA policies, and respect shall be followed when dealing with the clients.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Dress Code: scrubs and covered shoes, unless otherwise directed. No body piercing or outrageous
hairstyles.
Name Badge must be worn at all times while on duty.
Maintain a professional manner at all times interact with others with courtesy, respect, and patience.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most work will be indoors at 296 N. Vineyard Blvd. Kauluwela Mission Corp. On occasion you may be
asked to assist clients on field trips at miscellaneous locations.
