Part-time Faculty
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse with two years experience; one year in long-term or hospice care
- Licensed Practical Nurse with one-year experience in long-term or hospice care under supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Must be able to lift a 45 lb. weight from the floor to waist high
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse with three years experience; one year in long-term or hospice care
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
- Experience in career and technical education
Primary Customers: Students, Director of Nursing and Allied Health, Regional Employers
Supervision Exercised: TTECH Students
Reports To: Director of Nursing and Allied Health
Job Focus: Supports the College Mission to serve students, employers, and the College community. Provides leadership and quality job skills training to youth and adults, meeting the needs of Utah employers, in a safe and clean learning environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Instruct students and supervise both the classroom and clinical instruction
- Teach effectively using a competency-based curriculum
- Maintain a productive and safe learning environment consistent with Tooele Technical College policy
- Identify and maintain equipment and supplies as required to support continuous instruction; requesting, purchasing, and maintain equipment and supplies as appropriate
- Orients new students to classroom facilities, technology, and program/classroom performance and behavior expectations, procedures and safety
- Addresses and resolves issues affecting student success, coordinating with Student Services when appropriate.
- Coordinate with Staff and other instructors to ensure courses meet program, student, and employer needs
- Provides feedback to program Faculty to develop and implement competency-based curriculum that meets industry standards
- Maintain student records verifying and reporting competency certificates, and timely tracking and reporting of attendance, progress and grades
- Promotes job readiness, encourages professionalism and good work habits and assists with helping students find work-based learning opportunities, related employment and/or continued education
- Assists program Faculty to meet College program and accreditation standards and requirements including completion, placement, licensure, membership hours, headcount, certificates awarded and retention (graduate completers)
- Supports program Faculty in maintaining relationships with industry partners, developing and participating with the program Occupational Advisory Committee.
- Supports program certification requirements as appropriate to accreditation, department of education, state compliance regulations, and pathway requirements
- Documents interactions with industry partners
