SUMMARY : The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for welcoming and providing service to guests of the hotel.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform a friendly, professional, and timely manner check in and checkout processes for arrivals and departures
  • Assigns guest accommodations in accordance with procedures and SOPs. Maintains room availability and reports any issues to supervision.
  • Handles assigned bank in accordance to established internal controls properly and performs accurately account postings to guest folios.
  • Maintains knowledge of hotel occupancy status, special events, in-house groups and other situations affecting the reception desk's daily operation.
  • Processes guest payments and accounts upon checkout in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Able to articulate amenities menu and process guests' orders and make reservations on behalf of the guest
  • Maintains guest folios, ensuring all room charges and credits are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Processes guest payments and accounts upon checkout in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Brings any problems to the attention of the manager or supervisor on duty.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the public required. Previous experience with computers preferred. Excellent oral and written communication preferred. Typing and computer knowledge preferred. Regular attendance required. Ability to work various shifts and overtime when required.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with hotel operating systems preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Good money management skills required.


COMPUTER SKILLS

Some computer and typing experience preferred.
