About this Role:

This is a per diem position working on an as-needed basis to cover staff absences or additional staffing needs. Potential shifts will be scheduled for Monday - Friday during school hours.

Our School Nurses are responsible for maintainig the health and well-being of students during the school day. School Nurses perform regular classroom rounds to administer medications and perform daily procedures, such as G-Tube feedings, catheterizations, respiratory treatments, dialysis and any other routine care ordered by the students' physicians. They also respond and provide care in medical emergency or injury situations, as well as evaluating walk-ins.

School Nurses are responsible for documenting all nursing care in a student's file and for timely communication to update to parents, teachers and staff when working with students. School Nurses are also responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to other medical staff, such as LPNs and CNAs.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed RN in Rhode Island
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited university
  • 2+ years of experience working with children with complex health conditions is preferred
