Overview

The Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education at Utah State University invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure track (term) appointment in Audiology (AUD) at the Clinical Assistant Professor level beginning August 2019. The successful candidate will be a member of the AUD Clinical Education Program team supervising graduate students in clinical service delivery and providing direct services for adult populations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best practices clinical education and supervision for graduate student skill development in the USU Adult and Balance Clinic
  • Model and mentor graduate students in the implementation of interprofessional practice, person-centered care, and strategic practice management
  • Teach academic coursework as needed
  • As a member of the Clinical Education team, collaborate in patient/physician educational outreach/support, maintain and implement current evidence-based clinical protocols, and assure compliance with clinic policies and procedures and maintain clinical records as required by CAA program accreditation
  • Provide service to department, university, community, state, and profession

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Audiology degree
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Audiology
  • Current (or eligible to hold) Utah State licensure in Audiology
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an AUD-CCC
  • Proficiency in adult diagnostic assessment and amplification procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, counseling, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work independently
  • Ability to think strategically and to recognize new opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in balance/vestibular assessments
  • Experience in tele-audiology service delivery
  • Four or more years of experience as an AUD-CCC
  • Clinical supervisory experience
  • Experience in a CAA-accredited academic program
  • Experience working with inter-professional initiatives in human service fields
  • Experience with AUD billing, tracking, and electronic medical record software
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
