Staff Registered Nurse Job Opening

Primary Job Function
Exceeds the expectations of patients and visitors by creating an extraordinary experience in Telemetry Nursing Unit and MGH by greeting people warmly, sincerely, and with empathy.Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for patients and participates in patient and family teaching.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Indiana Registered Nurse License. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. No experience is required as the Telemetry department engages new nursing graduates. Ability to be discrete and protect confidential information. Strong customer service orientation.

Expectation of the attainment of the ACLS credential within one year of hire.

Working Conditions:
Typical patient care environment requiring employee to regularly be at risk for occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials. Should not pose “Direct Threat” to safety and health of self or others. Requires ability to work holidays, weekends, days, evenings, and night hours based upon department needs.

Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment:
This position requires critical thinking skills, math skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
This position requires frequent walking, some bending, some lifting, and standing for periods of time to manage, coordinate and administer nursing care and the ability to lift 50 pounds and push and pull 200 pounds.

Use of personal computer, telephone equipment, paging systems, fax machines, copier, and those equipment items necessary to provide patient care, i.e. thermometers, blood pressure manometers and stethoscope, intravenous equipment (pumps, sharps, etc.). These are not meant to be all inclusive.
