SHIFT: Full-Time – Day shift

POSITION TO BE FILLED: Spring 2019

JOB SUMMARY:

Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory therapy care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardiopulmonary system, under supervision of Physician and by prescription. Sleep Technician performs sleep tests and work with providers to provide information needed for the diagnosis of sleep disorders. Monitor brain waves, eye movements, muscle activity, multiple breathing variables and blood oxygen levels during sleep using specialized recording equipment. Interpret the recording as it happens and responds appropriately to emergencies. Provide support services related to the treatment of sleep related problems including helping patients use devices for the treatment of breathing problems during sleep and helping individuals develop good sleep habits. Lead duties will include policy and procedure drafting/review, education, staff scheduling, assisting Director with evaluations and annual budget, time and attendance duties, and day-to-day operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Currently licensed in the State of Idaho as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
2. Currently licensed in the State of Idaho as a Certified Sleep Technician; must maintain 12 CE credits per year.
3. Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.
4. Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician AND Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
5. BLS and ACLS required
6. Proficiency with Cerner EMR preferred.
7. Two to Four years of rural healthcare experience preferred.
8. Demonstrated skill in communication with the ability to maintain positive and effective relationships with physicians, staff, and the community.
9. Ability to function in all areas of nursing as a patient care provider if assigned.
