Job Qualifications
Education: Required - High school diploma or GED and
Accredited School (AAMA accredited school) – Medical Assistant Program (AMT, CAAHEP, or ABHES Accredited program)
Licensure /Certification: Medical Assistant certification required, or obtained within 6 months of hire.
Current AAMA certification or current AAMA exam eligibility.
Registered Medical Assistant required, or obtained within 6 months of hire.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Job Related Skills: Clinical skills with knowledge of medical procedures, medications; and experience and use
of Electronic Medical Records.

Job Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Accurately takes vital signs and gives injections as directed
- Performs all in-office testing as requested by provider
- Assists with minor surgical procedures/wound care and dressing, and sterilization of instruments
- Handles pharmacy-related requests/issues
- Collects and inputs patient information into patients’ EMR using correct medical terminology
- Completes referrals, pre-certifications, and prior-authorizations
- Monitors and orders supplies and medications
- Maintains patient files
- Responsible for financial cost related to obtaining certification and renewing of certification
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining certification
- Bi-annual competencies required
Physical Capacity Demand
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly
