The Patient Access Rep collects data and inputs into the hospital registration system and obtains signatures on all appropriate forms. The Patient Access Rep issues all required notices to patient or patient's family member. The Patient Access Rep verifies insurance, identifies certification requirements, and obtains them when necessary. The Patient Access Rep calculates estimated amount due and requests payment.

The Patient Access Rep must be able to accurately document all aspects of handling the account, including researching prior accounts. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. Must have excellent prioritization skills and be able to multi-task.

Must have at least one year clerical experience. Must be able to type at least 30 WPM. Medical terminology experience preferred.
