RN- Supervisor Job Opening

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Service, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of resident care and clinical supervision of staff on an assigned shift. The Nursing Supervisor is empowered and accountable for taking all reasonable steps to ensure that all staff promote and deliver a level of care that meets or exceeds our residents’ expectation. The Nursing Supervisor will assure that all assigned staff are active participants in the interdisciplinary care team designed to maximize each resident’s potential for independence and autonomy. Functions as the administrative representative designee in the absence of administration in the building.

• Promotes and supports the philosophy, goals and objectives of the department.
• Ensures accessibility with staff, residents, families and visitors to promote teamwork among caregivers, monitor the delivery of care and promote customer service.
• Facilitates communication and teamwork with members of the interdisciplinary team to enhance positive resident outcomes.
• Maintains awareness of residents’ status via use of twenty-four hour report, medical directors log, and rounds.
• Seeks to address and resolve customer service concerns that arise on assigned shift utilizing the facilities customer service process.
• Promotes a positive learning environment and fosters creative and critical thinking skills among staff in the delivery of resident care and achieving departmental goals.
• Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with supporting staff through unit/department/organizational changes.
