Collect and process patient specimens.


Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance to the established FMC policies, procedures and guidelines.


Job Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a certified phlebotomy program required. National phlebotomy certification required.


Experience: Previous experience in phlebotomy preferred.

Essential Job Functions

Job Expectations and Responsibilities:

  • Performs venous and capillary collections as ordered on patients regardless of the patient age.
  • Performs patient registration and consistently reviews for accuracy and completeness using the applications in place if applicable.
  • Performs order entry and specimen processing of specimens collected to ensure specimen integrity when preparing specimens for transport.
  • Performs EKG’s culture collections, BAT’s and Chain-of-Custody Drug Collections.
  • Performs specimen collection for Nursing home, house call clients and Health Screenings for community events.

Physical Capacity Demand

Medium Work: Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force

frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
