Elizabethtown Community & Technical College (ECTC) is one of 16 two year colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). ECTC offers daytime, evening, online and weekend classes at several campus locations. Opened in 1964 and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), our goal is to prepare students for successful transfer to Kentucky four year colleges or for immediate entrance into fulfilling careers.

Duties:

Long Description:

ECTC is seeking a high energy hands-on individual to provide assistance with academic and career advice to individual students at all campus locations and/or make appropriate referrals. This position will assist students with admissions information, assessment, career counseling, program information and early intervention strategies. In addition, he or she will provide enrollment advising information and registration information.

Contract position contingent on grant funding currently funded through 2021.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with academic advisors and counselors to assist FYE students to create realistic goals and to achieve those goals.
  • Work closely with academic advisors and counselors to provide appropriate campus and community referrals to enable FYE students to overcome barriers to success, i.e. Academic Advising and Career Services.
  • Collaborate with staff/faculty to provide FYE students with information on subjects that lead to success such as goal setting, financial literacy, time management, classroom success skills, and others.
  • Manage and maintain Title III program related data and records.
  • Collect and maintain records and data related to the FYE program for purposes of determining success and for grant reports.
  • Contact students within established workflows to discuss academic performance.
  • Participate in Registration/Enrollment activities.
  • When required, teach sections of FYE 105.

Position Requirements:

Master’s Degree (counseling, or related field) and three years related experience, or equivalent.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS word, MS Access and MS Excel
  • Ability to work effectively on a team
