Overview

The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University is accepting applications for a 12-month, 1 FTE, non-tenure track, administrative staff appointment to support the Huntsman Scholar Program. Applications are being taken immediately and the position is available June 1, 2019. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The position will work alongside another Program Staff Assistant and report to the Assistant Director.

The Huntsman Scholar Program brings together our most outstanding students inside and outside the classroom with incredible teachers for a rigorous, one-of-a-kind undergraduate business education program. Students participate in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular experiences across multiple years, with a program of study focused on academic rigor, critical thinking, and mentoring to provide a solid understanding of business enterprises and a holistic approach to student success and wellness. We structure our learning around our school's four pillars of ethical leadership, analytical rigor, global vision, and entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, the Huntsman Scholar Program places heavy emphasis on professional development and career placement through expert mentoring. The program will grow over the year to include approximately 400 students, comprising 20% of the undergraduate student population.

The program is led by an executive director and assistant director, and supported by an academic director, a second program staff assistant, and professional mentors. Multiple faculty teach in the program. The incumbent will provide support to the program leadership and faculty assigned to the program. The incumbent will also coordinate support provided from other units within the Huntsman School as well as from other university functions.

Responsibilities

1. Provides administrative support to program leadership.
2. Manages the program Salesforce CRM database and prepares complex reports and summaries.
3. Advises and directs other support staff.
4. Coordinates support for program and students through Huntsman and university resources.
5. Manages Program's online and social media presence.
6. Performs general office duties.
7. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

3. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information professionally.
4. Ability to work without supervision.
5. Excellent customer service skills.
6. Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
7. Skilled with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets, CRM databases, presentation software, and email/calendaring tools.
8. Ability to train, instruct, and supervise lower level staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years of directly related work experience in a customer service setting or an Associate's degree or certification in a designated field plus 2 years of directly related work experience, or a Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, relationship management, interpersonal leadership, effective mentoring, and communication skills.
