This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the health care unit through demonstration of consistent organizational and communication skills. This position assists RNs, LPNs, PCTs and Physicians in the patient care process. The Unit Assistant assists the nursing staff in monitoring the heart rhythms of patients on telemetry. The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff is essential. Some record keeping and posting of rhythm strips may be required.
